Us

Nowadays, we may often hear people around us complain that they are under great pressure in their daily life. It is true that no pressure, no motivation. But, how about much more pressure? Different people have different views of point. As for me, I firmly think too much pressure in essence prevents people from achieving academic accomplishment rather than do good to us.

The causes are obvious. Firstly, in our opening society, people have to acquaint with a vast number of new things so as to obtain better lives, which request them transferring more times from academic studies to other fields, lessening their academic pressure. Secondly, more pressure from academic studies will make people produce mental problems such as stress and qualm（anxiety）, in the long run, which will make

academic studies become impossible.

Therefore in my opinion, those who would achieve academic accomplishment must not be given more pressure. It is

a good academic air that does good to us.

Therefore, after a long time of the terrible condition, we are likely to suffer from depression and body function disorder, which are terribly harmful to our health. And our bad conditions can make the people who love and care about us worried. Thus, not only we hurt ourselves but also we bring some terrible consequences to others. For another, our normal life may be put in danger of being influenced badly if we are exposed to too much pressure. If we suffer from so much pressure that we can’t concentrate on other things other than our anxiety. Thus, our life will be in a vicious cycle. Moreover, we may be in no mood to enjoy the beauty of life. Above all, some of us can’t bear the excessive pressure and may commit suicide. If so, our normal life can’t go on well as usual.

In conclusion, I think more pressure from academic studies not only does no good to us but also can bring us many disadvantages. So we have to pay more attention to the pressure from academic studies and deal with the pressure rationally.

There has been a heated debate about the effect of pressure from academic studies on us students in college. Some of my fellow students argue that it is not good for us to study under great pressure. Personally I do not agree to this view.

My argument is based on the following two aspects. First, no pressure means no progress. With the development of our society, competition among people grows more and more fierce. College students are no exception. They must learn how to deal with future challenges foreseeable. Under proper pressure, each student has to work hard to lay a solid foundation in his or her specialty. Second, no pressure means no self-discipline. In our daily college life, quite a few students idle away their spare time—even some of their academic time. With more academic pressure upon the students, they will cherish their time and have self-restrictions with their study and even self-behavior.

In summary, I believe more pressure from academic studies does a great deal of good to us college students. If we put pressure into perspective, we will surely enjoy our campus life more and benefit more from it accordingly.
