Sidney Pointier was among the black people in America, who is well-known for his excellent acting skill and film directing. When Pointier was eighteen , he wished that he would become an actor. So he went to visit a local director, and told him his ambition. The director asked Pointier to read a part of a script on the stage. It embarrassed Pointier, for there was so many words he didn't understand, and it is hard for him to complete the task. The director thought that the boy was far from an actor and let him get off the stage. The boy thought a lot ,and found he was so poor in reading ability. Finally he make the decision that he would break his back to study. The next six months saw Pointier spent as much time as possible reading.
