My Hometown

Have you ever found our city just shaped like a big yuanyang hot pot? I think that's one reason why people say, " It is Jia ling River and Yangts River that nurture us Chongqing people." Another reason for saying so is that it helps to build our way of thinking, that is, "connection." Locals here are born to know that they have to connect things together to solve problems. This way of thinking has been seen in the construction of our city. These two rivers divide Chongqing into several parts, so we have built quite a few marvelous bridges to connect the urban districts. Lines of roads reach to faraway suburbs, connecting traditions and modernness. Mountains, winding rivers , bridges, and highrises together form a most wonderful landscape, zigzag skylines, and its world-famous night views, which build up its grandness and our Chongqing peoples' pride and confidence.
Hot-pot, known as our Chongqing people's most favourite food, is the thing where those fascinating personalities of Chongqing people lie in. Wherever it appears, it reminds people of Chongqing and its people. People get to know my hometown Chongqing in many ways. They may get to know it in a book, on TV, through hot-pot or Longxin motors, but this city is more than what you've read, watched or heard. You can easily find its unique landscape and skylines, but you can never fully know it until you've talked to the local people, touched the old wooden houses of Qing Dynasty, or seen the boat-trackers on your boat trip in Lesser Three Gorges. This city features in nothing but its grandness, its mysterious culture , its people and its history.
The people in my hometown have the most close-knit relationship I 've ever felt. We have very rich community life. We have benches specially designed for small talks of 5 or 6 people on squares or in parks. Families and friends go out to eat at weekends. You can even find strangers talking happily in small diners----well, Chongqing people certainly like casual conversations. Friends from other parts of China always tell me how much they enjoy being with us Chongqing people. When talking to us , they feel they are just part of us. In fact, we Chongqing people are always ready to accept and connect foreigners. We treat others with faith, we are frank, straightforward and clear-cut in everything. And we keep a high spirit in life.
Like weather being the most popular topic for Englishmen, we CQ people chat a lot about its past and its development, showing our concerns for our society. Quite often we mention the history and culture of our city, to which Ba people made outstanding contributions, and also the hardships we endured in the past. If you don't know them, you know little about this city.
Everybody is proud to have a lot to say about their hometowns because they love them deeply. So am I. And the more I know about it, the more I love my hometown------Chongqing!

In the east of China, there is a small city---Haimen. I was born there. Today, I am telling you about my hometown. Haimen is not far from Shanghai. It’s at the mouth of the Changjiang River. Haimen is a modern city. There are lots of high buildings in it. Most of us live in flats. We like to live in flats because we can be close to our friends. In the center of Haimen, there are many shops. You can buy some nice things here. Things in most shops aren’t expensive. You can pay a little money and they are yours. My hometown is a beautiful city. On each of the roads, there are some big trees and nice flowers. The roads are also very clean. They make people happy and comfortable. The seasons here are very nice. I like autumn best. It’s neither hot nor cold. A poem says “Flyer of summer come to my window to sing, then fly away. And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, just fall there with a sign.” It’s very cool.I love Haimen. It’s a nice place to live. Welcome to my hometown.

My hometown is in Dongguan City,Guangdong Province..It has a long history. It has a population of about five million.
It's very beautiful with many tourist places, such as Ke Yuan, the Green World and Yuan Chonghuan Resort. It's also a developed city with many factories.Every day thousands of people come to Dongguan for fun,for work and for business.
You can easily go to Dongguan. You can go by train,by bus.And if you are far way from it,you can fly to the neighbouring cities, such as Guangzhou or Shenzhen to tranfer.
