CNTA Starts Platinum 5-Star Hotel Rank

The China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) has formally launched a new deluxe hotel rank called "Platinum 5-Star".
Beijing's China Grand Hotel, Shanghai's Portman Ritz-Carlton, Garden Hotel Guangzhou and Shandong Hotel Jinan have been included as the first batch of hotels under the trial project.
To meet the developing trends of the hotel market, CNTA recently made three amendments to the star-grade hotel standard in China. The highlight of these changes was to start a superior grade "Platinum 5-Star" above the current 5-star.
