I eat dogs while not cats. The reason is that I come from Pei County located in North Jiangsu Province which is famous for its dog meat. Through special cooking works, the dog meat is delicious. You will never feel that you are eating a dog, it's just meat, as common as cotton, pork and beef etc.
The Chinese people rarely have cats except for the Guangdongees, people from south China. The Guangdongees are well known across China for their deep interests in eating special animals, including the cats of course.
I think that come from the different attitudes toward the animals and even the nature between the Chinese and the foreigners. The Chinese thought that human beings are the root of the world and everything can be served to the humans, while others consider animals and nature to be their friends.
