  • We have three important parts of education: reading, writting and Math. Some people think every child will benefit from a fouth skill added to the list:computer skills. Do you agree or disagree?我们的教育有三个重要的部分:阅读,写作和数学。有人认为每个小孩都应该把计算机作为第四技能添加到列表当中。你在何种程度上同意或者不同意这个观点?
In the past, illiterate referred to those who could not read nor write. But now, with the rapid development of the society, the scope of illiterate expands to include those who can not use computers skillfully and efficiently. Therefore, some people propose to include computer courses for the basic education which I can not agree more for the following reasons.
First and foremost, since computers have become an essential part of our lives, learning computer skills since childhood can better prepare children for their future lives. Nowadays, whatever we do in school or at work, be it writing a thesis, doing a presentation or sending an email, we just have to use a computer. Thus, if children are equipped with those computer skills beforehand, they can better handle those tasks about computers in their future. Furthermore, acquiring computer skills opens a new door for children to explore the untapped world. In this virtual world, we can never know what will come next, what applications will emerge and what convenience they will bring to our lives. Once those imaginative children are endowed with the tool to explore this unknown world, amazing things will come into place.
Admittedly, it is understandable that some people worry the computer course may impair children's eyesight and that children may indulge themselves in playing computer games once exposed to this big game machine. Nevertheless, what I want to emphasize is that learning computer skills does not mean staring at the screen all the time. Consequently, one hour a day does not do as much harm to children's eyesight as they think.
In conclusion, in terms of the game concern, what we really need to do is to limit children's access to computer games instead of restricting the use of computers totally.雅思考试(IELTS)
